About Bridport Harbour (West Bay)

A tidal harbour at the mouth of the River Brit with private leisure moorings, commercial berths and seasonal visitor pontoons.

Bridport Harbour is a single tidal basin at West Bay on Lyme Bay. Most of its private leisure moorings are in trots secured to ground chains; the Council provides the chains and risers.

Private moorings are allocated annually, and the harbour says applicants must join a waiting list. Eligibility is limited to people living within ten miles of the harbour or paying Dorset Council tax from their residence.

A seasonal modular pontoon facility is normally available from April to September. The harbour also lists power and water at the entrance to the pontoons, showers, a chandlery, boat lifting and launch and recovery services.
