About Barby Moorings

A marina basin on the northern Oxford Canal near Barby, two miles from Hillmorton Locks, offering pontoon berths and bankside moorings with private leisure plots.

Barby Moorings has operated since 2011 on the Oxford Canal between Hillmorton and Braunston Junction. The basin has soft, planted edges and an island that splits the pontoons into groups of about twenty boats.

Pontoon berths each have power, a frost-protected water point and wifi, with wired internet on two pontoons and an allocated parking space. Bankside berths come with a private grassed plot beside the boat, power, water and wired internet.

Winter storage is offered with boats breasted up in the basin. Diesel, gas, coal, pump-out, EV charging and engineering services are available, and vehicle access is through a barrier with CCTV across the site.

Fees are set by the length of the berth rather than the boat, payable monthly or yearly in advance with a deposit; electricity is metered and billed monthly in arrears.
